Jack Mildengren started playing ice hockey as a child. He was assisted in his development by the instruction provided by his father Steve Mildengren. Steve coached Jack using formal Swedish Ice Hockey training methods. As Jack grew up, people became curious about his phenomenal ability and would inquire as to his training methods which were then kept secret. As time went Jack grew to play both professionally in the United States and in Sweden. It became apparent that there was a need to provide specialized training and development to players and goalies of all ages and ability as well as those in the professional ranks. When you see Jack's slap shot you know it is fast. The facility uses a radar gun as a teaching aid. The speed of Jack's slap shot is routinely 100 miles per hour. Watching Jack play in the pick up games is very interesting. Pick up games become an extension of the coaching instruction that Jack provides to the students. Many students sign up for the pick up games in order to demonstrate and hone skills taught earlier. Jack pairs up with different students during the games. While participants wear black or white jerseys, Jack will often wear a different color jersey such as red. The goalies really get a work out during the pick up games because they hardly ever get a break. Back to Top |
